Day one: Cusco Limatambo Chonta
We pick you up at your hotel by 4:30 am, then ride our car for 3 hours and a half until the end of the car road, then we some typical farmer’s houses made of mud-brick and tiled roof, and the time to hike for an hour 45 minutes, arriving to the viewpoints to try finding some condors, which is the biggest bird in the world called in scientific way (Vultur gryphus).
The condors feeding are on dead animal and once located the carrion, they do not descend to eat immediately, but merely to fly on the same or settle somewhere where is safe and then feed on the most accessible or soft part of the bodies like eyes and tongue then anus and udder or testicles then abdomen, with its strong and sharp beaks and open tear tissues hides; this further facilitates the use of the part by smaller scavengers, also Condor may eat about 5 kg of meat a day and also can last for 5 weeks.
